When using a PC Card network adapter you might not be able to connect the computer to the network, and under Control Panel > System there is a yellow exclamation mark "!" next to the card.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Modify the value named "EnablePowerManagement" and change it to '0' based on the following:

If the current value is '01 00 00 00' change it to '00 00 00 00' (Full Version).

If the current value is '0x00000001 (1)' change it to '0x00000000 (0)' (Upgrade Version)

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Settings:

Name: EnablePowerManagement
Value: (0 = disable, 1 = enable)
